Baines&Fricker are Steve Baines and Eliza Fricker, a husband and wife design team who launched their company at 100% Design in 2011. Their Harris Tweed rocker was a Blueprint finalist for Best New Product.
Based in Brighton, Baines&Fricker design and make furniture and accessories for the modern home and contract sector. Their furniture range is practical, robust, simple and comfortable. The use of clean lines coupled with quality materials gives the designs a versatility which allows them to sit comfortably within the modern home or in contract environments such as hotels and leisure, bars and restaurants, education, retail and offices.
Bespoke projects the design studio have undertaken include an office design for multi disciplinary design studio, retail spaces and the interior of Silo, the UK’s first zero waste restaurant.
Products are designed and made from their Brighton workshop. They use British materials wherever possible, and draw their influences from a broad range of sources from industrial architecture to street signs. They have a firm belief that the everyday and mundane can be made worthwhile to look at, and this comes through in their designs. Baines&Fricker bring a fresh approach to the contract market, offering architects and specifiers bespoke non-standard contract furniture solutions.
